LATERALUS was released on MAY 15 2001. Not sure why I was recording the ART BELL SHOW on 9-11 (1997), but when I played my cassette tape of the paranoid AREA 51 caller to Danny the next night at the loft, right then and there he thought it might make for a good segue to include with some dramic ‘noise’ from a defective machine and drums on Tool’s next album. After Art agreed to this, FAAIP DE OIAD was created.
